This tool explores benefits identification and realization tactics, taking into account multiple stakeholders, timing and realization success for financial, social, ethical and environmental opportunities. You can choose a template that is optimized for OS or Windows (PC).
BIR-T addresses an emerging area of project management practice. It takes a deep dive into the identification of expected project benefits and objective strategies for their measurement. The timing of when these benefits are planned is crucial to the other tactic of validating their realization. Multiple benefits can be assessed by comparing planned and actual realization as a percentage, known as 'realization %'. Lessons learnt that contribute to continuous improvement (CI) on future projects are recorded along with actions to implement them into practice.
We also have developed a companion to BIR-T that aggregates and summarizes the performance of multiple projects, whether current or historical, within your organization. It provides graphical analyses of performance over time and against other indicators, and collects implemented lessons learnt into a single archive for easy reference. Table 1 and Table 2 can be linked to Microsoft Power BI or other organizational database. Again, you can choose a template that is optimized for OS or Windows (PC).
The concept of benefits identification and realization is depicted in the following image, which highlights its relationship with i3d3. Earned value analysis is performed using our OPe1 tool. The juxtaposition of planned and actual performance informs project success and lessons learnt (CI actions) for future project improvement.
